STEPHENSON, Ruth E (Robbins)

September 27, 1931 - February 2, 2023

Ruth Evangeline (nee Robbins) Stephenson died peacefully at her home in Lookout Ridge, Fonthill, Ontario, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the age of 91. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, George Henry Stephenson. She is survived by her children Cyndie Trussell (Doug), Kathy Trussell (Bob), George (Jane Cunningham), and David (Gregory Utas). Ruth was always full of love for her family and will be fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren (Matt, Tim, Elizabeth, Julie, April, Dan, Joe, Emma, and Will), their spouses, and her fourteen great-grandchildren (Stephanie, Avery, Maddie, Ellie, Lucas, William, Andrew, Brigitte, Henry, Wesley, Eva, Emelia, Finn, and Peter). Ruth was born on September 27, 1931, in Toronto, Ontario, to Gladys (nee Gooch) and Jack Robbins. She met George at teacher's college in 1952, and they married soon after and had their four children over the next twelve years. After working in education for several years, Ruth and George purchased a summer resort near Peterborough, Ontario, that they operated for 15 years. Retiring from that in 1986, they divided their time between Prince Edward County and Fonthill, Ontario. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Vineland Missionary Church, Vineland, Ontario, with a reception to following in the fellowship hall of the church. The family would like to profoundly thank the wonderful staff of the Community of Lookout Ridge for their kindness and affection for Ruth, especially during the last weeks of her very happy life.
